A Quick RX for Career Success

September 23, 2004 -- No school has a surefire prescription for career success, but at Pima Medical Institute, 3333 E. Flamingo Road in Las Vegas, adding a new Pharmacy Technician Program will provide more vocational opportunities in a short timeframe for those interested in a career in the healthcare field.
    
PMI began a new Pharmacy Technician Program and is currently interviewing students for the second session that will begin in November. The training covers: Pharmacy Law and Ethics; Pharmacy Regulatory Guidelines; Pharmacy Math; Inventory Maintenance; Pharmacology; Clerical Duties; Pharmacy Laboratory Skills; computer Applications and an externship in a hospital or clinical setting. The program is complete in 36 weeks for students in the day class and 41 weeks for the evening program.

In addition to Pharmacy Technician, PMI’s Las Vegas campus offers career training for: Dental Assistant; Medical Assistant; Medical Secretary; Phlebotomy Technician, Veterinary Assistant and Radiography.
